Podcast & streaming rooms
Tame the hollow, boxy sound of a bare room so your mic picks up your voice, not the walls. Start with first reflection points and the wall behind you.
Creator Studio Pack for podcast rooms →Furniture-grade acoustic panels · Locally assembled in Australia
Thin foam tiles only tame the high-frequency hiss. Sonoform's high-density mineral wool core acoustic panels absorb across the range where your room muddies your voice, so recordings sound close, clean and broadcast-ready, and the room looks like a design choice, not a science experiment.

Acoustic foam vs acoustic panels
Sound absorption comes from density and depth. A 25mm foam wedge can't stop the low-mid energy that makes a room boxy and makes voices sound hollow. A dense, thick fabric-wrapped acoustic panel can.
| Feature | Cheap polyurethane foam tiles | Our high-density fabric-wrapped panels |
|---|---|---|
| Frequency range | ✕ Mostly highs. Barely touches low-mids and bass, so the room still sounds boxy. | ✓ Broad-spectrum absorption, from vocal body down into the low-mids. |
| Look & finish | ✕ Egg-crate or wedge foam. Reads as "bedroom studio". | ✓ Furniture-grade fabric, clean edges, a choice of colourways. |
| Fire safety | ✕ Many are flammable, releasing dense toxic smoke when they burn. | ✓ Fire-retardant core and fabric to AS/NZS standards. Documentation supplied. |
| Lifespan | ✕ Yellows, crumbles and sags. Replace in 1–3 years. | ✓ Stable, rigid construction. Designed for 10+ years. |
| Mounting | ✕ Sticky tabs that pull paint off walls. | ✓ Concealed hardware that mounts, and removes, cleanly. |
| True cost | ✕ Cheap upfront, then replaced and still not solving the problem. | ✓ Buy once. Fix the room properly. |
Acoustic treatment for every room
Acoustic panels absorb sound inside a room, which cuts echo and reverb and makes speech clearer. They don't stop noise travelling through walls. For that you need mass, sealing and decoupling, and panels work well alongside them.
Made in Melbourne and delivered Australia-wide, from Melbourne and Sydney to Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart.

Creator Studio Pack for podcast rooms →Control reflections and low-mid build-up for more accurate monitoring and cleaner vocal and instrument recording, without a foam-covered look.
Estimate acoustic panels for your studio →Reduce reverb in boardrooms and open-plan spaces so calls and conversations are easier to follow. Colour-matched to your brand, with fire documentation on request.
Acoustic panels for offices and fit-outs →Make shared kitchens, lounges and corridors calmer and more comfortable. Panels improve the sound inside a space and are not a substitute for compliant wall construction.
Rooming house acoustic panel orders →How it's built
Every Sonoform panel is a framed, braced and fabric-wrapped unit that hangs on a Z-clip cleat. The same build is used in all four fabric tiers and every size.

A Z-clip is a two-part interlocking mount. One half is fixed to the wall and the other to the back of the panel. The panel then hooks on and is held flat to the wall.
Z-clip hardware is included with every panel, with heavy-duty clips on Maxi panels and Creator Studio Packs.

Every fabric belongs to one of four tiers, Tier 1 to Tier 4, and the tier decides what the panel costs. The size and build are identical in every tier (see the full price list). Choosing a fabric above sets the tier for you.
Every panel has a high-density mineral wool core, kiln-dried timber frame, Warwick commercial fabric wrap and Z-clip mounting hardware, and is 50 mm thick.

60-second estimate
A guide only. Based on 1200 × 600 mm panels covering a share of total wall and ceiling area. Odd-shaped or very reflective rooms may need more. Send us your dimensions for a free layout check.
Acoustic panels absorb sound inside a room, which cuts echo and reverb and improves clarity for recording, calls and conversation. They do not block sound travelling through walls, floors or ceilings. That needs mass, sealing and decoupling. Panels pair well with those measures, and we're happy to advise on what your space needs.
We produce in limited local batches. You pay at pre-order, which funds the materials and production run for that batch. Once the batch closes (or hits 50 bundles), we manufacture and dispatch in approximately 14 business days, then delivery takes 5 to 10 business days. You'll get order confirmation, a production update and tracking when it ships. Missed this batch? Join the list below for Batch #4.
As a guide, cover about 10% to 30% of the combined wall and ceiling area, depending on how the room is used: around 22% for podcasts and streaming, 30% for critical listening studios, 14% for offices and meeting rooms, and 10% for shared spaces. Use the calculator on this page for an estimate based on your room size, or send us your dimensions for a free layout check.
For orders of 24 panels or more, you can reserve your place in the production batch with a 50% deposit. We'll confirm your quote and send deposit instructions. The remaining 50% is due before dispatch. Deposit and refund terms are set out in our Pre-Order Terms.
After the production window (approximately 14 business days from batch close), panels are dispatched from Melbourne and delivery takes 5 to 10 business days. Large 2400 x 600 mm panels and bulk orders ship via specialised tail-lift freight carriers. Packaging, shipping and handling are charged separately and shown at checkout; freight for volume orders is quoted. Local pick-up in Melbourne is free, by appointment. Tracking is emailed on dispatch. Full details are on our Shipping Policy page.
Our core and fabric are fire-retardant to AS/NZS standards, unlike many foam products. Test documentation is supplied with commercial and volume orders so building managers, certifiers and insurers can review it. Requirements vary by building class and use, so for rooming houses and commercial fit-outs, always confirm with your certifier. We're happy to supply whatever paperwork they ask for.
Yes, for improving comfort and speech clarity inside shared spaces such as kitchens, lounges and corridors. Panels reduce echo within a room but are not a substitute for compliant wall, floor and ceiling construction between tenancies. Confirm requirements with your building certifier, and we can supply fire-retardant compliance documentation.
Yes. Choose from five fabrics: Duke and Casimir (plain velvets, Tier 1), Caspian (fine woven, Tier 2), Mackay (textured weave, Tier 3) and Augustus (reversible felt-style, Tier 4), then pick a colour from the range shown. If you want a specific shade that isn't listed, tell us and we'll match it as closely as we can. Dye lots vary slightly between batches and screens show colour differently, so we recommend the $20 swatch kit to see and feel the real fabrics before you order.
Panel price depends on the fabric you choose, and every fabric belongs to one of four tiers: Tier 1 (Duke, Casimir), Tier 2 (Caspian, 300 mm width), Tier 3 (Mackay) and Tier 4 (Augustus). A Standard panel (1200 x 600 mm) is $203.50 in Tier 1, $280.50 in Tier 2, $247.50 in Tier 3 and $341.00 in Tier 4, all inc. GST. A Square panel is $104.50 to $176.00, a Maxi panel $374.00 to $649.00 and the Creator Studio Pack $1,089.00 to $1,529.00. Every tier has the same mineral wool core, timber frame and mounting hardware. Only the fabric and the price change. The full price list is on this page.
Every order includes Z-clip mounting hardware and a step-by-step guide. Most people hang a full pack in under an hour with a drill, level and tape measure. The guide shows exactly where to place panels: first reflection points, behind the speakers or mic, and corners. Plasterboard, brick and stud walls are all covered.
Install the panels following our placement guide. If you're not hearing a clear improvement in echo and voice clarity, contact us within 30 days and we'll work with you to fix it, with extra panels or a refund. Full terms are on our Returns & Guarantee page.
